Ranger PRO utilizes low voltage wiring standards, so an electrician is not usually required. The installation document is very straightforward and should provide adequate instruction for most installations.
- Additionally, the installation contractor should know: 1. The total length of siamese cable needed from each camera to the Ranger location 2. If the POS overlay option is being used, the length of CAT5 cable from each register to the Ranger location. 3. If the store is using a CCTV monitor, the length of coax cable from the monitor to the Ranger location (plus two BNC female to RCA male adapters). 4. If the store has a previous CCTV system, make sure the existing camera cables reach to the location where Ranger PRO will be mounted. If not, BNC barrels and additional coax patch cables may be required. 5. CCTV camera standards include cameras that operate on 12 Volts DC and some that operate on 24 Volts AC. Make sure you understand the voltage you are working with, and do not mix cameras of different voltage requirements on the same power supply.
